I am currently exploring the outer regions of internet access, where savage peoples war for bandwidth in haze of rural bloodshed. Pray for me as I map this forsaken back country of dialup access and inbred luddites with their barely recognizable grunts and groans that may constitute a proto-”language”. Should I not return to civil lands within the week, please either send a rescue party or announce my death-in-the-pursuit-of-knowledge at the Royal Society’s general meeting.

…are you in Heidelberg, George?
December 11th, 2009 at 9:01 am
Living in wired Newfoundland has turned George into an Ignatieff-like cosmopolitan snob.

After living in Canada’s heart of natural beauty, industrial development, and cutting edge culture, it’s hard to find your way in the jungles of savage Ontario.

Or you could just take the time off and not even bother with dialup access, George. Giftmas is closing fast, after all.
I’m sure the Book Ninjas would understand, and not throw *too* many stars your way . . .and I’m sure whatever stars flew your way, the points would be dulled thanks to a sense of holiday charity. :-)

Ugg, I was wondering if that giftmas word would catch on or not. I was hopping not… Let us celebrate the birth of crass consumerism.

Giftmas is a pejorative, Chris. For this Giftmas, I’m buying you a better understanding of sarcasm.
December 11th, 2009 at 5:26 pm
It may start out as a pejorative, but that doesn’t mean it will stay that way. Don’t worry I have a sense of humor, one day I may use it.

…sounds like you’re in Heidelberg.

Regarding the (high)Art of (poetry)War:
Essex is the new Oxford.
Oxford could show some class by leaving the post vacant for the duration.
