CBC has announced its Canada Reads list for this year. A couple good titles on here. I can’t imagine most of Canada making it through the emotional burning lighter fluid of Fall on Your Knees, but then again… didn’t they already do that a long while back? Same with Generation X. Glad to see Endicott there.
- Perdita Felicien defends Fall on Your Knees, by Ann-Marie MacDonald (Vintage/Random House of Canada)
- Simi Sara defends Good to a Fault by Marina Endicott (Freehand Books)
- Roland Pemberton (Cadence Weapon) defends Generation X by Douglas Coupland (St. Martin’s Press/H.B. Fenn and Company, Ltd.)
- Dr. Samantha Nutt defends The Jade Peony by Wayson Choy (Douglas & McIntyre)
- Michel Vézina defends Nikolski by Nicolas Dickner, translated by Lazer Lederhendler (Vintage/Random House of Canada)
The National Post’s book blog is getting in the spirit by being its cheeky self and starting a “Canada Also Reads” shadow panel in which you just might be the one to participate if they pick your suggestion.
