- The New Kindle, as parsed by The Onion (I had hearty laughs at points three and five, especially)
- Post 9/11 wins award (Dear Bookninja, Isn’t every novel written since then a post-9/11 novel? Sincerely, Confused in Brooklyn)
- Not one, but two new Philip Roth novels…. pant pant pant…
- I learned via Twitter last night that the mind-numbingly awesome part-time Ninja Richard Nash is leaving Soft Skull… To me this is akin to the dismay I felt when Martha Sharpe was leaving Anansi here in Canada… A big change is coming, but here’s hoping Richard will land on his feet and do something equally awesome
- For those of you following, we’re back to Duffy being odds on favorite for poet laureate
- UK’s foreign fiction prize long list
- And speaking of literary translation, apparently it’s a viable business model…

I’m not going to lie: I love point 7. Why don’t people make mixbooks of their favourite portions of works? (Yes, I know that that’s technically a commonplace book, but people rarely have those anymore, and almost never share them).
