    I’m pretty sad about this.

    I have read the Rabbit series many times. I’m only 26, but it seems to me to be a reasonably accurate portrayal of what it is like to be a man through the different stages of his life. An arrogant man, sure; an ignorant man, too: but a man, yes.

    His other books I’ve read, and sometimes enjoyed. And often not. Being prolific has its downsides, certainly. But he was still a wonderful author, and his words were always worth reading. He shall be missed.

    Interestingly, i just recently discovered John Updike… I haven’t fallen in love with all of his work yet, but i’m warming up to his candid writing style;

    his passing is a sad loss indeed
