I’m disappointed by this announcement from Microsoft. Mostly because I work at one of the scanning centres funded by the program (we scan public domain materials–only public domain materials–for Archive.org as part of the Open Content Alliance), and they made the announcement about cutting our funding to the press before they told *us*. Many of us spent the weekend wondering if we’d have a job a week from now.
