The slowly dying world of books

A bunch of creepy/crappy stories on the death of independent publishers and bookstores. I can’t bear to separate them out into multiple posts, so you get bullets instead.

  1. BH says:

I’m just not seeing it. I think a lot of what’s going on is just sheer inability to adapt to the presence of the Internet: the indie imprints, for example, often don’t make much use of cheap online promotion to enhance their brand presence. I recently ordered a volume of the Akashic noir series because I saw it mentioned on a blog, for example. The man with the warehouse full of books–did he try selling them through Amazon?

The man who lost his books to the landlord–did he try paying rent?

    Heh.
