Seen Reading

Hey, I stumbled across this blog called “Seen Reading” a little while ago and I find it compelling and original. It’s Toronto publishing industry type Julie Wilson who records info about people she sees reading in public — who they appear to be, what they’re reading, where, when, a piece or passage from the book — and then she develops a brief backstory for the sighting. Very cool. It’s like visual gossip. It reads like those “sightings” personal ads where people who caught eyes in the subway try to find each other again.  There’s something voyeuristic about it, but not in a creepy way. It’s quite loving. This is the kind of blog I can’t get enough of and will read every day.

Of course it’s a great idea. I know. I’ve been doing the same thing with drawings.

Love the blog. Hate the spelling! Not “writing about what your reading” please, but “writing
about what you’re reading.” Thank you. Thank you very much.
